The Role

Overview

Manage multiple civil construction projects ensuring safety, budget and quality.

Tasks

-Lead defect management and maintenance, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and cost-effectively. -Chair and document subcontractor meetings, ensuring follow-up on key actions. -Liaise with local authorities, public utilities, and external stakeholders to meet project requirements. -Oversee budgets, programmes, and cost control, ensuring projects remain commercially viable. -Investigate and resolve delays, incidents, and construction challenges. -Monitor and enforce compliance with statutory, contractual, and company processes (IMS and QMS). -Oversee procurement of subcontractors, labour, plant, and materials. -Champion health, safety, and environmental standards; conduct site inspections and audits. -Lead and manage civil construction projects across multiple sites. -Supervise and support Project Managers, Senior Site Managers, Site Managers, and Engineers. -Manage project close-out, including O&M manuals, defects resolution, and handover.

What You Bring

-First Aid at Work (3-day course or equivalent). -Valid CSCS card. -Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or equivalent industry experience. -Minimum 2 years’ management experience including planning and directing projects. -SMSTS certification. -CSCS Manager’s Card. -Proven experience as a Contracts Manager, Project Manager, or similar senior role within civils or construction. -Full UK driving licence. -Management qualification (NVQ/SVQ Level 5 or above – achieved, in progress, or willing to complete). -Strong leadership, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
