Overview
Develop SOFC materials/components, conduct testing, and support qualification for production.

Tasks
-Work cross-functionally to qualify critical components for production, from design & drawing, analysis of experiments, specification development, first article and lifecycle management -Draw on extensive expertise in electrochemistry and high temperature materials to identify promising materials, define functional requirements, establish and execute characterization studies on the component and stack level, and evaluate performance and degradation against established metrics -Work within the stack engineering team to develop new SOFC (solid oxide fuel cell) materials and components. -Evaluate new inks, powders, and processing methods. Establish new component-level testing, test equipment, and testing protocols as appropriate to study performance, robustness, and degradation mechanisms. Explore new characterization methods and develop new metrology to advance technical learning and improve product quality. Prepare and test fuel cell components and stacks -Work with cross-functional teams to define component specifications. Work with raw material and component suppliers to meet technical requirements, and execute continuous improvement plans for performance, cost, yield, and reliability

What You Bring
-Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills -Hands-on experience in engineering testing or lab experiments preferred -Pursuing a Bachelor’s (4th year), Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science -Must be graduating between Spring 2026 and Summer 2027 -Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail -Strong drive for results and continuous improvement -Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively within cross-functional teams, in a fluid and fast-paced environment
