Tasks
The UX Researcher will act as the bridge between the AI development team and end users—world-class scientists and biomedical experts—to ensure the agentic framework is powerful, intuitive, and seamlessly integrated into complex scientific workflows. The goal is to champion a user-centered approach, translating deep user insights into a product that accelerates scientific breakthroughs. -Build User-Testing Infrastructure: Create and maintain reusable testing protocols and recruitment pipelines for internal expert users. -Collaborate with AI/ML Engineers & Scientists: Translate complex user needs from drug discovery into clear, actionable product requirements. -Design and Execute Usability Studies for AI Products: Develop and implement specialized testing methodologies (contextual inquiries, task-based usability tests) for LLM-driven interfaces and agentic workflows. -Communicate with Clarity and Impact: Synthesize data into insights and recommendations; advocate for the user to technical and non-technical stakeholders.. -Define AI Product Strategy Through UX Research: Lead end-to-end user research to inform the product roadmap for agents and LLM-based applications; identify pain points and new AI opportunities. -Uncover Actionable Insights for Agentic Frameworks: Analyze user interactions and trust in AI outputs; synthesize findings to understand adoption and engagement. -Operationalize User Feedback for AI Systems: Build a systematic process for gathering, analyzing, and tracking qualitative feedback to improve AI infrastructure.

What You Bring
BEPC is actively looking for a UX Researcher II, in Manhattan, New York area! Work model: Onsite role - Local candidates strongly preferred. The hiring manager is prioritizing profiles with experience in LLMs/agents and a biotech, pharma, or related background, specifically those who have shipped an internal build, software, or product. Note: This is a W2 only role — C2C, C2H will not be considered -Experience building and scaling a user research practice, including processes for recruitment, testing, and knowledge management. -Direct experience shipping internal software, tools, or products within biotech, pharma, or related industries. -BS/MS in life sciences. -Experience working directly with subject matter experts and stakeholders on internal tools. -Ability to connect user insights to product strategy, roadmap decisions, and business impact. -Communicates with clarity, empathy, and strategic focus. -Hands-on experience with LLM-based applications and standardized protocols like MCP (Model Context Protocol). -Demonstrated experience with AI products, specifically Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI agents. -Comfortable tackling ambiguous, high-stakes problems and curious about complex domains like drug discovery. -Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex qualitative data into actionable themes. -Experience with UserTesting, Contentsquare, or similar usability testing platforms. -3–5+ years of experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods (generative studies, usability studies, data analysis, A/B testing). -3–5+ years of experience conducting UX research and usability testing with complex, expert-facing systems or internal tools.
