Tasks

-Collaborate effectively with engineers and drafters to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring consistency and precision across all design documents. -Prepare plan and elevation views, grounding plans and details, foundation plans and details, and conduit or cable trough layouts. -Coordinate across departments and disciplines to ensure seamless project execution and timely delivery. -Import tables and calculations, such as bills of materials, and incorporate relevant notes to ensure accuracy and clarity within each drawing. -Conduct thorough self-reviews to verify drawing accuracy and completeness before submitting work for final review. -Assist in all phases of project delivery, including correspondence, documentation, and participation in project meetings as needed. -Create CAD designs for physical substation engineering deliverables, including general arrangements, plan and profile drawings, and detailed construction drawings. -Produce specialized detail drawings such as steel structure fabrication, concrete foundation, oil containment, metal grate platforms, and fire wall details (preferred).

The Substation Designer – Physical (CAD Technician) plays an essential role in preparing detailed civil and physical electrical drawings for high-voltage utility substation projects and renewable energy interconnections. This position works closely with engineers and consultants to develop precise, high-quality drawings that support the successful completion of complex projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and thrives in a collaborative environment focused on delivering excellence in design and engineering support. -Minimum of 2 years of CAD experience with AutoCAD required. -3 or more years of CAD experience preferred, with demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD. -An associate degree in Design and Drafting Technology or a related field is required. -Experience with transmission, distribution, and substation design projects preferred.
