Overview

Procure materials, manage supplier relations, and support project delivery.

Tasks

-Ensure that all materials & equipment purchased by the company comply with the relevant safety standards. -Obtain best prices from suppliers and review regularly; for unusual or be-spoke items, obtain a minimum of 3 quotations. -Ensure Material Safety Data Sheets are obtained where required; where appropriate, seek advice from the Safety Manager regarding health & safety or environmental implications of materials and equipment purchased. -Manage the invoice and credit note process and maintain good communication with suppliers and Accounts. -Plan project delivery taking into account price & lead time. -Ensure the movement of materials and plant to and from the Warehouse is properly accounted for. -Monitor project staff compliance with the Materials Procurement Policy. -Maintain the Warehouse & Stores areas ensuring such areas are tidy. -Assist Estimating Department on pricing as required. -Manage the company’s mobile phone register. -Maintain accurate file & email storage to ensure proper and timely payment of invoices. -Generate Credit Agreements with suppliers in line with Accounts Payment terms and conditions. -Put in place rebate terms with large suppliers. Maintain a Schedule of all rebate terms and ensure year-end credit notes are issued. -Promptly place orders with suppliers & ensure project managers & QSs are kept up to date on delivery.
