Tasks

-Responsible for SOX compliance, including design and effectiveness of the assigned SOX processes. -Act as FPLES liaison for accounting implementations -Provides accounting oversight to businesses and departments within the Company and ensures proper controls are in place for accurate financial reporting -Prepares financial reports that are in compliance with GAAP and FERC, in a timely manner, to accurately reflect the financial position of the Company -Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly and quarterly financial results -Conduct reporting and/or accounting research projects as assigned -Ensures financial data integrity through the implementation and maintenance of a strong control environment -Identifying and recommending changes to processes to enhance the accuracy of accounting data and/or efficiency of the department. -Oversight of FPL Energy Services accounting team -Oversight and development of FPLES accounting processes and internal controls -Manages professional staff, and effectively communicates and executes performance management -Maintains good understanding of, and applies, GAAP, SEC Regulations, Sarbanes-Oxley, and related company policies, practices and procedures. -Ensure the overall accounting accuracy of FPLES business lines and special projects across multiple reporting entities -Support commercial and residential business lines by providing accurate and timely accounting conclusions in support of current and new product initiatives -Keeps abreast of, and applies GAAP, SEC regulations, and relevant company policies, practices, and procedures

-Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years -Experience: 8+ years -Certified Public Accountant (CPA) -Master's - Business Administration -Bachelor's Degree -Presentation of accounting areas/issues to concisely and clearly articulate to senior management -Project management skills inclusive of setting timelines/project plan, establishing assignments/priorities, and delivering according to project plan.
