Tasks

-Manage the ASC 842 lease accounting and related schedules. -Lead the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with GAAP. -Develop and document account processes and internal controls. -Contribute to special projects and analytical tasks. -Evaluate and enhance current accounting practices by applying industry benchmarks and strategic insights. -Collaborate with accounting leadership to design and implement initiatives that improve financial workflows and operational performance. -Foster growth within the accounting team, ensuring alignment across functions and driving operational excellence. -Assist in the implementation and optimization of financial systems and financial reporting tools. -Provide technical accounting support, through research as necessary, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. -Lead the annual financial audit process and coordinate audit deliverables. -Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality work and professional development. -Oversee multiple areas of the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. -Perform financial consolidations. -Champion opportunities for operational enhancements, internal control upgrades, and the dissemination of best practices across functions. -Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

What You Bring

-Demonstrated leadership and self-direction -Solid understanding of advanced accounting principles, financial management tools and concepts -Ability to multi-task and critically review work completed by other team members -At least 3 years supervisory experience -Demonstrated willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques -Possess comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) -Detail oriented analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy -Experience with ERP system conversion is a plus -Strong computer skills, especially MS Excel and PowerPoint -5 to 7 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally in both public and private settings -Experience translating analysis results into business recommendations -Ability to interact with of all levels of the organization in a team environment -Must be willing to work overtime including nights and weekends upon request -Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required, CPA/CMA/CGMA required -Strong communication and presentation skills - both written and verbal
