The Role
Overview
Perform maintenance, repair, and operation of water distribution system components.

Tasks
-Locate water mains, service boxes, and valve boxes, or assist in those tasks. -Locate leaks or assist in those tasks. -Legibly and accurately fill out time reporting tool, street repair reports, hydrant reports, leak reports, and other required paperwork. -Participate in OSHA (i.e. trench/excavation) and other training classes -Install corrosion protection devices on underground piping, or assist in those tasks. -Read appropriate meters, instruments and gauges. -After repairs are made make turn-ons and turn-offs at the service box for non-payments and unauthorized use, or assist in those tasks. -Disinfect, flush, pressurize, and hydrostatically test water mains and services, check for chlorine residual, and collect samples from the distribution system, or assist in those tasks. -Investigate leaks, water outages, and other complaints throughout the distribution system, or assist in those tasks. -Know the location and types of mains, valves and hydrants within the distribution system to be able to efficiently perform work assignments. -Instruct and train other employees as directed. -Drives company automobiles, trucks, used in the department, and complete any maintenance required inspection tickets. -Thaw services, fire hydrants and mains, or assist in those tasks. -Operate, inspect and maintain taps, valves, valve boxes, mains, hydrants and services, or assist in those tasks. -Follow prescribed methods for loading and unloading, handling, and storing of materials and supplies. -Know the names and uses of, and operate and maintain all the tools, equipment, machines and materials used in distribution work. -Working inside and outside under varies types of weather temperatures and conditions. -Install recording gauges and change charts, or assist in those tasks.

What You Bring
-When flexed be able to perform the following job; Buildings and Grounds -High School diploma or equivalent -Know the location of company facilities and be familiar with the service area to efficiently perform work assignments. -Ability to lift 50 pounds. Bending, lifting, working in tight spaces. -Work from engineering drawings and sketches, service manuals, or other references to effectively perform duties. -Basic mechanical knowledge and familiar with basic hand tools is desired. -Ability to work shifts and be available to for call out. -Ability to administer Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS) 4 practices. -Use of company technology, i.e, computers, laptops, mobile devices is desired.
