The Role

Overview

Design and analyze fire protection systems, conduct code analysis, using AutoCAD/Revit.

Tasks

-Utilize AutoCAD, and/or Revit to prepare fire protection system designs. -Perform analysis of existing fire protection systems, as well as designing new fire protection systems including suppression systems, fire detection, alarm and mass notification systems -Manage day-to-day contacts with internal and external clients utilizing experience and technology to meet expectations. -Perform building and fire code analysis and code interpretations. -Multi-discipline engineering services plus corrosion control, commissioning and project/construction management -Perform research and documentation for internal and external distribution. -Attend and participate in local and national professional organizations, such as SFPE -Develop project management skills for managing internal projects as well as external client needs -Utilize FDS, Pyrosim, and CONTAM programs to execute performance-based design efforts.

What You Bring

-1 to 6 years of professional experience in the fire protection consulting profession -Possess technical writing skills. -Fire Protection specific degree desired -Licensed California Professional Engineer (PE) desired -Dependent upon the level of experience, PE, EIT, or ability to obtain EIT. -Possess intermediate level computer skills necessary for daily activities, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and simple graphics. -Strong communication skills, both written and verbal -Experience with the current version of AutoCAD and Revit (preferred) -BS degree in engineering or related science from accredited university -Knowledge and experience with the International Building Code (IBC) and US design standards. -45 years in business
