Tasks

-Accept and resolve calls from customers or IPS field technicians with installation or technical questions. -Accept and help to resolve calls from AHJs regarding permit application questions . -Assure IPS quality and standardization is applied to engineering/design work as it is produced. -Perform engineering/design work on projects as workflow and necessity dictates -This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines -Start his/her day trying to determine how he/she can exceed customer satisfaction at each opportunity. -Review projects that fall into IPS review criteria (by margin percentage, dollar limit, or as requested by peer review.) -Use AutoCAD and/or REVIT to produce completed drawings. -This is a largely sedentary role; however, occasional travel to jobsites to assist with walk thrus will be required -Keep current with existing and new products to assure proper design and design implementation with best-suited products. -Provide sales & technicians support as needed. -Maintain certifications and training needs. -Keep project delivery dates current with chief engineer.

What You Bring

-Must be NICET III or higher certified -Must be self-motivated; able to perform with little supervision. -High Knowledge in state and local building codes -Possess excellent math, language, and reading skills. Must fluently speak, read, and legibly write in English. Must have aptitude to pick up technical information . -Must have high knowledge of physical security systems and access control systems -Excellent computer skills-must be able to navigate company software and third-party inspection software, enter data and send communication. Requires excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. -Must have high knowledge of IP networks, functionality, and implementation -Possess good interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and a professional approach. -High knowledge in commercial, industrial, and institutional fire alarm, special hazards suppression, intrusion, access control, and closed-circuit television systems, equipment and applications -Background check required. Must have and maintain a clean driving record (no DUIs or other serious violations within the past three years). -Must have high knowledge using AutoCAD -Must have minimum associate’s degree in engineering or related field -All employees of IPS are subject to random drug testing per our Drug Free Safety Policy
