Tasks

-Prepare and preserve field notes and documentation. -Research and review land records, legal documents, and historical survey data to determine property boundaries. -Maintain NV5 company truck and equipment. -Ensure that survey data meets project specifications and quality standards. -Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including total stations, digital levels, GPS receivers, and data collectors. -Transfer collected field data to computer systems for further analysis and reporting. -Determine most efficient plan of action for data acquisition, beginning with the primary control through any other potential Survey tasks, such as topographic surveys, boundary surveys, right of way staking, construction layout, etc. -Perform quality control checks on collected data and survey documentation. -Troubleshoot and perform minor equipment repairs as needed. -Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment to ensure accurate measurements. -Maintain accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performance. -Conduct traverses and level loops using high accuracy techniques and equipment to establish primary and secondary control. -Assign tasks to team members, provide guidance, and oversee their work. -Maintain detailed and accurate records of survey activities, measurements, and data. -Ensure that the surveying team follows safety protocols and practices in the field. Maintain a high level of safety in the field. This includes safe driving habits, safe and proper use of equipment, site safety as required, and the use of proper Personal Protection Equipment. -Pursue continuing education and training to maintain surveying certifications and licenses. -Stay current with advancements in surveying technology and best practices. -Communicate daily with Project Surveyors and CAD technicians regarding project schedule and work progress. -Establish boundary markers and reference points using high accuracy surveying techniques. -Lead and supervise a survey team in the field, ensuring efficient and accurate data collection. -Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and objectives. -Provide regular progress updates and communicate any issues encountered in the field.

What You Bring

-Proficiency in operating and maintaining surveying equipment and software. -Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, including boundary determination and topographic mapping. -High School Diploma or GED -5+ years of land surveying experience -Minimum of 2 years party chief experience. -An associates degree or bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field is a plus, or relevant work experience.
