The Role

Overview

Design, permit, and manage copper/fiber OSP projects, coordinating with utilities and municipalities.

Tasks

-Partner with SSP Contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective construction. -Update design and project systems (FROGS, CAD, Varasset, SiteTracker). -Collaborate with other utilities to develop relocation plans that minimize conflicts and avoid delays. -Locate and identify Frontier facilities, working with project managers and municipal engineers to evaluate project impacts. -Coordinate with power companies and communication providers regarding make-ready work, pole replacements, and service requests. -Support field and central office technicians by investigating and resolving PUC complaints. -Address plant damage repair (PDR/DOR) requests, including cable count adjustments and capital projects. -Meet with Township, City, County, and State officials to discuss road and utility projects (travel required; mileage reimbursed). -Conduct site surveys and design capital projects for cell towers. -Work closely with Contract Engineers to ensure projects align with business and client needs. -Prepare and submit permits to local, state, and federal agencies (DOT, DNR, Railroad, Pipeline, etc.).

What You Bring

-3–5+ years in copper and fiber-optic telecommunications engineering, including broadband design and OSP construction. -Proficiency with Frontier mapping, design tools, and permitting systems. -Excellent communication and collaboration skills with municipal officials, contractors, and internal stakeholders. -Strong ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. -5+ years in network engineering or related field, with strong knowledge of fiber record management, cable counts, and permitting. -Ability to travel as needed for project meetings, inspections, and surveys. -MUST LIVE WITHIN ONE HOUR OF THE FOLLOWING CITIES: -Skilled in FROGS, CAD updates, and OSP Telecom Construction. -Demonstrated knowledge of permitting processes and requirements.
