Overview

Design and oversee bridge and transportation infrastructure projects.

Tasks

-Conduct quality assurance reviews of project construction documents, engineering reports, etc. -Assist project managers with coordination between various groups working on structural projects (e.g., highway, pedestrian, and railroad bridges; commuter rail stations; marine structures; energy projects; retaining walls) -Lead structural inspections/evaluations and associated load capacity ratings -Assist in preparing qualification packages, proposals, and/or contracts involving technical approach, costs, and scheduling -Perform structural modeling, design, and oversight for bridge and other transportation infrastructure projects -Participate in the proposal process, determining client requirements and developing plans, specifications, quantities of materials, construction cost estimates, reports, final bid packages, and related documents. -Provide project management support -Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, estimates, and calculation packages -Review fabrication drawings and provide construction plan reviews -Prepare technical reports and sections of proposals and/or contracts -Provide technical and training support to structural engineering staff

What You Bring

-Experience completing engineering studies, design reports, compiling contract documents, and developing contract plans in conformity with accepted engineering standards and procedures -Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and quality -Project management and mentorship skills -PE license required -Model-based design experience is a strong plus, including: -AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit/Infraworks/Inventor -Strong technical skills in bridge/structural design and critical thinking -Experience with and motivation to lead and mentor junior staff -8+ years of structural bridge/transportation design experience required -Effective and comfortable in a highly collaborative team environment -Demonstrated excellence in verbal presentations and technical writing -Strong familiarity with any of the following structural engineering software (e.g., Mathcad, FB-MultiPier, ATLAS, STAAD Pro, LARSA 4D, AASHTOWare, MDX, SP Column, MerlinDASH, FDOT Structures Design Programs, etc.) -B.S. in Civil Engineering required (structural emphasis preferred) -Strong organizational and time management skills
