The Role
Overview
Install, maintain & repair overhead power lines up to 400kV for Balfour Beatty.

Tasks
-Work as part of a team to ensure the safe, effective and efficient implementation of Balfour Beatty operations -Apply appropriate earthing schemes to dissipate induced voltages -Maintain site safety at all times and complete daily risk assessments where required -Ensure that accidents and near misses are suitably reported -Ensure that accidents and incidents are promptly reported to the Foreman -Carry out all work in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Balfour Beatty and its clients -Maintain and develop new skills and competencies in accordance with Balfour Beatty standards and legislative changes -Complete all work to Balfour Beatty high quality standards -Understand and use the safe systems of work to be employed at the work site. -Piloting work -Wear the correct PPE at all times and use any specific PPE as required or instructed. -To install, build and refurbish overhead power lines up to 400kV

What You Bring
-To hold a National Grid competent persons card – permit to work -Experience of working on a variety of construction project types. -Knowledge of the Power industry -Full clean driving licence -Lifting and lowering -Hand tools -Conform to all instructions stated in method statements and risk assessments -Flexibility – Willing to travel and work across the UK -Aptitude for working at heights -Ability to work in a team -Good verbal and written communication skills -Only operate plant with the correct authorisation and training. -Understand the site specific risk assessments to ensure all known risks are controlled. -Able to undertake work in high pressure situations -Stockings and J Stops
