Use computer software as a tool for solving basic and complex engineering problems
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for project execution
Prepare and deliver project status reports to senior management and clients
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation
Conduct/manage engineering structural design as the supervisor or lead structural engineer
Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule
Collects and analyzes data
Mentor junior staff
Provides project and technical task management for one or more simultaneous projects
Create or review designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings
Manages one or more complex projects involving a full spectrum of engineering services offered by AECOM

Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information, uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and makes recommendations
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural designs with other engineering disciplines

Professional Engineer License with the ability to attain reciprocity in Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, or Pennsylvania within 6 months of hire
Previous experience in leading projects meeting required quality, timeliness, and budget parameters
Project Management experience in marine terminal related infrastructure
Experienced in planning, design, and construction management
BS in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Maritime Engineering with 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Experience with computer aided design (AutoCAD)
Client Relationships: Ability to assist in developing new client relationships and to strengthen existing client relationships. Ability to identify, understand and focus on clients' key requirements
Due to the projects associated with the position a US Citizenship is required
Previous experience with Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) planning and design
Previous experience in maintaining client relationships
Team leadership: good team leadership skills. Self-starter, energetic, pro-active
