Tasks

-Coordinating with law enforcement and other agencies to ensure effective security operations -Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure the effective management of security operations, including: -Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for security operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies -Manage badging, visitor systems, and programming of access systems, ensuring seamless and secure access to facilities -Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery of security projects -ELogger incident reporting and management system -Plan and coordinate events, including security logistics and access control -Serve as Riskonnect Lead, managing risk assessments and mitigation strategies -Manage radio and emergency communications systems, ensuring effective communication and response to security incidents -Manage and coordinate security-related projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation -Ensuring compliance with relevant security regulations and standards, including NIST, FISMA, and DFARS -Developing and managing security budgets and resource allocation plans -Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including facilities, IT, and operations, to ensure effective project execution -Develop and implement key control procedures, ensuring the secure management of keys and access devices -Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring minimal impact to security operations and business continuity -Conducting security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential threats -As a member of the growing Advanced Research Center security team, you will be responsible for overseeing both Classified and Physical Security programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies -Integrate security systems with Building Management Systems (BMS), ensuring effective monitoring and response to security incidents -Provide leadership and management of guard forces, including contracted or employee personnel -Implementing and managing security awareness training programs for employees and contractors -Overseeing the development and implementation of security policies and procedures -Managing security incident response and crisis management efforts -Develop and implement emergency management plans, including Incident Command System (ICS) protocols, to ensure effective response to security incidents -Manage visitor management system

What You Bring

-A background in security management, law enforcement, or military experience in security operations, intelligence, or communications -Experience in physical security risk management, corporate security operations, executive protection, and vendor oversight in an industrial setting -Experience working in an industrial or research facility environment -ICS 700: National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction -Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY. -NIMS/ICS qualifications, including: -Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience or High School Diploma with a minimum of 10 years of experience -Proven ability to manage security vendors and ensure operational compliance -Familiarity with industrial security protocols and procedures -Experience with project management methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall -ICS 100: Introduction to the Incident Command System -Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship. -Experience with Riskonnect or similar risk management software is a plus -Experience with project management tools, such as Asana, Trello, or MS Project, is a plus -Experience in security management, project planning, and team leadership -Experience with integrating multiple security systems and technologies to create a comprehensive security program -ICS 300: Intermediate Incident Command System for Expanding Incidents -Experience with budgeting and cost management, including budget development and tracking -Experience in large-scale domestic incidents, including natural disasters, terrorist attacks, or other major emergencies -Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving skills, and stakeholder management skills -Ability to work under high-pressure conditions, make critical decisions, and respond to emerging threats in real-time -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions -Experience with developing and executing comprehensive security plans, including contingency planning and risk management -Experience in incident management, crisis response, and business continuity planning -Military experience in security operations, intelligence, or communications, with a strong understanding of security protocols and procedures, is highly valued -Proven experience and strong knowledge of physical security technologies, access control systems, surveillance solutions, and emergency response protocols -Experience working with federal, state, and local agencies, including emergency management organizations and law enforcement agencies -Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent experience is preferred -Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification is preferred -Preferred experience with the following security systems and software: -Preferred experience in planning large, complex security operations using systems such as the Incident Command System (ICS) or similar operational planning frameworks -ICS 200: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response -ICS 400: Advanced Incident Command System for Command and General Staff
