Tasks

Under the direction of the General Contracting Manager, the Project Engineer will manage heavy highway or site work construction projects by planning, directing, and coordinating activities to ensure that project goals and/or objectives are accomplished within the project constraints. -Prepare and submit project schedules -Assist in the development of a site safety plan and to ensure all jobs and personnel are focused on working safely and efficiently -Be involved in innovative, cool projects throughout the local area and the state. -Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites -Participate in estimating and bidding -Engage with other project managers, superintendents and logistics managers -Engage with owners and general contractors by attending and/or leading meetings -Plan, schedule, and coordinate Heavy Civil projects including, but not limited to, roadwork, sitework, wetland, shoreline stabilization projects. -Ensure overall profitability of designated jobs -Build rapport and engage with customers and subcontractors -Oversee all job scheduling, quantity reporting and all final cost responsibility

-Ability to communicate with others to convey information effectively -Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems -Valid Driver's License and considered insurable by insurance standards -Ability to manage own time and the time of others -Ability to motivate, develop and direct people -Knowledge of project management within heavy construction materials, means and methods, and equipment -Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources -Bachelor's Degree, vocational training, certification from an accreditation organization, or combination of schooling and relevant work experience
