Tasks

● Align category performance with overall business targets and contribute to strategic planning. ● Develop and execute strategies for category expansion, margin improvement, and cost efficiency. ● Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable and cost-effective material sourcing. ● Support project timelines by ensuring just-in-time availability and minimizing stock-outs or excess inventory. ● Lead negotiations with manufacturers, distributors, and regional vendors for better terms and pricing. ● Set clear KPIs, drive performance reviews, and enable skill development for team members. ● Ensure procurement operations adhere to compliance, quality standards, and delivery timelines. ● Monitor market trends, customer demand, and pricing to optimize sourcing and sales strategies. ● Drive the sales and profitability of the building materials category (cement, steel, aggregates, etc.) across the assigned region. ● Take end-to-end ownership of the regional P&L for building materials. ● Lead and manage a team of 8–10 category and procurement managers across the region. ● Coordinate closely with project execution, logistics, finance, and technology teams to ensure smooth end-to-end material flow. and process - creating the playbook for the industry. ● Manage key metrics including top-line revenue, gross margin, cost of goods, and working capital.

What You Bring

● Strong negotiation, leadership, and analytical skills. ● Experience: 10–18 years in procurement, category management, or supply chain — preferably in the construction, infrastructure, or building materials industry. ● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. ● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business; MBA preferred. We are looking for a seasoned Regional Category Manager to lead the building materials category in a defined region. This is a senior leadership role responsible for revenue generation, full P&L ownership, and managing a team of 8–10 procurement and category managers. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in building material sourcing, pricing strategy, vendor management, and category growth in the construction or real estate sector. ● Deep understanding of building materials procurement, pricing structures, and vendor ecosystem. ● Proven experience in managing large teams, handling regional P&L, and working with cross-functional stakeholders.
