Tasks
A Safety Technician with Stellar Energy will facilitate the development of a strong EHS culture within our manufacturing plant and implement programs, policies, and assessments to ensure Stellar Energy and its employees meet all legal and regulatory requirements. Actively support occupational health and safety guidelines, assist Safety Specialist with the weekly safety meetings, and conduct safety inspections and job observations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Travel between the two Jacksonville manufacturing facilities is expected for this position. -Willingness to gain knowledge and experience to achieve certification in Environmental or Safety Management (ASP, CHST, CSP, CEM, CHMM, REM, STS). -Physical stamina and the ability to work in various conditions (e.g., confined areas, heights) -Associates/bachelor’s degree in safety management or related field. -Able to update various safety programs -Avetta, ISNetworld, Veriforce, as needed to maintain compliance -Ability to assist line and staff management with understanding OSHA regulations and standards -2nd Shift Differential – 10% -Ability to influence change. -High School Diploma or GED -Valid driver’s license -3 + years of experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction environment (a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health may be substituted for work experience). -Must be authorized to work in the USA
