Tasks

-Utilize Intelex to ensure all health and safety matters are documented and completed promptly. -Prepare content and ensure regular Toolbox and Safety Meetings are conducted. -Lead our safety performance, ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local safety, occupational health and environmental regulations, including OSHA. -Conduct training and culture-building activities with branch teammates to lead with safety in mind. -Collaborate with peer EHS teammates across Nucor Rebar Fabrication to ensure consistency across divisions and share best practices. -Assist branch in performing annual safety reviews, PPE assessments, equipment certifications, etc. -Conduct safety and compliance inspections according to a defined schedule. -Maintain a Safety Inspection and Auditing Program. -Inspect facilities/sites, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and to ensure safety regulation compliance. -Spot check all safety logs, sign-off sheets, and other required and regulatory documents. -Work with JHSC on audits, program reviews, etc. and help to develop topics and other agenda items for the JHSC meetings.

What You Bring

-Proficiency with common software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. -Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. -Means and ability to travel within region to other branches; occasional travel outside of regions to participate in safety audits. -Bilingual Spanish/English. -Bachelor's degree related to Occupational Safety and Health/Environmental or 3 years’ experience in a related field. -Understanding of OSHA and EPA laws and regulations affecting the industry. -Experience working with Safety Management Systems and standards in a manufacturing environment. -Process Safety Management and Risk Management Plan experience.
