Overview
Analyzes uranium and related materials using ICP-MS and wet chemistry in a nuclear lab.

Tasks
-Perform duties in radioactive material-controlled areas and pass Nuclear Safety Training. -Operate Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and instrument control software. -Conduct wet chemistry analyses to determine chemical composition and impurities using titrimetric, gravimetric, colorimetric, and chromatographic methods. -Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations through environmental testing. -Certify for assigned job functions and perform analyses in mass spectrometry to determine isotopic contents of nuclear materials using ICP-MS. -Monitor equipment performance, respond to alarms, perform preventive maintenance, and execute minor repairs. -Perform unit conversions, interpret manuals, engineering drawings, and software programs. -Handle acids, bases, solvents, and radioactive materials using appropriate PPE and safety protocols. -Evaluate material properties through metallurgical analysis, including metallography, mechanical, and corrosion testing. -Prepare reagents and working standards following proper storage requirements. -Apply precision techniques such as pipetting, titration, analytical weighing, and volumetric dilutions.

What You Bring
-Ability to work various shifts and overtime as needed. -Minimum 18 months of experience in a commercial or military laboratory environment. -Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a physical science from an accredited institution. -Previous experience in the nuclear industry and/or working with uranium. -Previous experience in production support laboratories. -Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical information both verbally and in writing. -Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and collaborate effectively in a team environment. -Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs. -Ability to pass Ishihara vision test for quality control. -Experience using a computer-based Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). -At least 1 year of experience in ICP Spectrometry, Ion Chromatography, Liquid or Gas Chromatography, or Metallurgical Analyses. -Experience in electronic data transfer and/or digital image analysis. -Demonstrated experience with standard analytical laboratory methodology (titrimetry, gravimetry, spectrophotometry).
