Electrician Journeyman

Overview

Tasks

-Maintains personal transcript of training and provides updates to the company as needed. -Uses electrical test instruments such as multimeter, oscilloscope, etc. to troubleshoot/repair equipment. -Reads, interprets and ensures that work is compliant with approved construction drawings, documents and machinery manufacturers specifications. Asks questions when unsure of requirements prior to commencing work. -Maintains up-to-date training, knowledge of and compliance with all related safety subjects, including but not limited to: NFPA 70E Awareness, PPE, power tool safety, HazCom, lock-out/tag-out, confined space, fall protection, powered industrial vehicles, jobsite housekeeping standards, etc. -Complies with all CR Meyer and owner safety guidelines. Positively promotes safety to others. Reports concerns to Safety Coordinator and/or supervisor. Has the authority to stop work in cases of imminent danger. -Represents the CR Meyer brand in a positive, professional manner at all times. -Wears all assigned PPE and observes CR Meyer safety guidelines at all times. -Stages materials, supplies, tools, equipment as needed and maintains a neat, safe work area at all times. -Proactively maintains certifications and training requirements in relation to Electrician trade, with an emphasis on new developments in the field and technology. -Works safely around tools in operation, moving machinery, heavy equipment, open areas, leading edges, etc. -Treats all CR Meyer tools, materials, equipment, with respect. Takes steps to control damage and loss. -Safely operates hand and power tools including pliers, hammer, fishing tape, connectors, lugs, knife/stripping tools, hand/power benders, testers, meters, etc. -Works independently and/or as a team to perform wire and cable pulls. -Conducts regular safety checks of tools before using them. Tags out and reports tools that need attention. -Installs electrical systems in a manner that minimizes waste and avoids unsightly/disorganized systems. -Completes all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner including, but not limited to: timekeeping, production tracking, employment paperwork, etc. -Prepares conduit for installation using manual, mechanical and hydraulic bending systems. -Assists with the installation and maintenance of electrical systems in compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements. -Works cooperatively with other trades and conducts self in a professional manner with customers, subcontractors, coworkers and all other parties. -Participates in all assigned CR Meyer safety training courses in a positive, proactive manner.

What You Bring

-Ability to travel to various project sites within the United States required. -Basic computer skills preferred and the ability to learn CR Meyer software and systems. -Properly runs, strips, splices, tapes, caps, connects, grounds all electrical wiring per NEC requirements. -Employees who operate a company vehicle must have a valid driver’s license, insurable driving history and ability to operate a motor vehicle following all traffic laws, CR Meyer required training and demonstrate safe, courteous driving habits. -Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with CR Meyer’s Drug & Alcohol Policy and Program. -Must be legally eligible to work in the United States, without employer sponsorship. -Due to project deadlines and demands, regular and reliable attendance is required. -Holds a current state-issued Electrician Journeyman’s license. -Ability to complete all CR Meyer training and perform job duties within safety guidelines including, but not limited to, First/Aid-CPR Certification, OSHA 30 and SafeStart and other job/trade-specific requirements.
