Tasks
The Department of Housing and Works delivers and maintains essential social housing and critical infrastructure across Western Australia—including schools, hospitals and police facilities. We manage tenancy services, support housing provision in remote Aboriginal communities, and oversee government employee accommodation. This position is a Multiple Area Leader. This means that you will lead teams to achieve the strategic direction of a number of different business areas or key priorities. You will implement operational strategy and take the lead for shaping its short- and medium-term directions. You will contribute strategic value by determining the focus areas for delivery through a broader lens and determine the timing of future growth in your business areas. The Assistant Director Information Governance and Privacy leads the Department of Housing and Works’s (DHW) efforts to apply fundamental principles of information management (encompassing records management and tender management) through the creation and maintenance of governance and quality frameworks. The role provides specialist advice in information management principles and tools, including in the structured use of the enterprise data platform. The role also provides strategic oversight of privacy and responsible information sharing ensuring the Department’s compliance with relevant legislation and best practice in data governance.
