The Role

Overview

Develop urban plans and stakeholder engagement for DC region projects

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Organize and track administrative project tasks like meeting minutes, action items, and scheduling needs. -Support site analyses, land use planning and zoning, urban design studies, alternative assessments, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) plans, and historic preservation documents in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. -Manage subtasks for plans focused on the development of open space and park plans, redevelopment plans, and comprehensive plans. -Lead the development of reports, presentations, graphics, and maps for public audiences, elected officials, and regional leadership.

What You Bring

-Positive outlook and can-do attitude approach to tasks and teamwork. -Bachelor's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning plus 4 years of related experience and/or education. -Experience with ArcGIS, MS Office Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite required. -Excellent time management skills and ability to balance priorities. -Experience and understanding of NEPA and DC region context. -Efficient and organized with a high level of attention to detail. -AICP certification (or certification track) preferred. -Adept at developing creative and innovative graphics, maps, and document layouts.
