Tasks

-Identify and resolve bottlenecks in database systems. -Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and business analysts to understand new requirements and recommend high-level direction and approach. -Utilize tools like shell scripting, Python, or Perl to automate processes. -Resolve platform-related issues and participate in incident response. -Monitor and maintain database health, performance, and security. -Analyze and optimize SQL queries and overall database performance. -Perform audits and vulnerability assessments to maintain security standards. -Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness. -Implement indexing, tuning strategies, and partitioning for performance gains. -Develop scripts for monitoring, maintenance, and automation tasks. -Implement and manage database backup and recovery strategies. -Provide support for development, testing, and production environments. -Manage user access and roles, ensuring compliance with data governance and security policies. -Coordinate with vendors for product-related issues, patches, and bug fixes.

What You Bring

-Background in utility space, real-time applications, SCADA, and transmission/distribution systems is an added advantage. -Expertise in performance tuning, index management, and SQL query optimization. -Proven experience in installation, configuration, and management of SQL Server (including multiple instances on a single server/VM). -Strong skills in TSQL and PowerShell. -Working experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
