Tasks
-Be the owner of all aspects of Control & Protection system deployment, system Configuration, and validation, as well as all usual integration challenges of the control & protection system -Represent the business externally at conferences or in professional working bodies (IEC, CIGRE etc) and maintain active relationship with relevant academic institutions to promote research projects and other academic cooperations. -Identify and drive improvements in engineering, operational tools, processes, systems & technical solutions to improve our customer value and business efficiency -Work closely with Team Managers to plan execution strategies, provide engineering estimates, identify risks and put mitigation strategies for new opportunities -Review and approve technical documentation, including control and protection settings, manuals, and test procedures. -Actively support Consulting Engineers with staff development & succession planning. Participate interviews for promotions or hirings within Engineering/Technology up to the level of Senior Engineer. -Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on control, protection, and integration issues. -Development of PSCAD Network Model, Control MATLAB application Model, Control system block diagram, ONM Manuals. MATLAB application unit and system integration testing. -Conduct system studies, including modelling, simulation, and stability analysis of VSC networks. -Overseeing the overall technical solution that meets customer Requirement based on reference Solution. -Participate Patent Evaluation Board (PEB) to protect technology that gives the business a competitive advantage, as well as protecting the intellectual property rights of the company. -Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting of complex VSC control and protection issues. -Maintain an active role in product introduction, cost improvements, schedule adherence and problem resolution to meet business needs. Provide technical consultation to cross-functional teams within the business to improve or resolve manufacturing, supply, or field issues. -Develop and implement protection schemes for VSC-based systems, ensuring reliability and compliance with industry standards. -Collaborate with project teams, NPI, Product care utilities, and vendors for system integration, testing, and commissioning. -Uphold the principles of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) within the teams. -Provide ad-hoc technical guidance to the Engineering/Technology leadership team as required, e.g., joining customer negotiations or supplier audits. -Stay updated with emerging technologies, standards, and best practices in VSC systems and power system protection.

What You Bring
-Ability to work independently and make strategic engineering decisions. -Knowledge of cybersecurity considerations in power electronic systems. -12+ years of experience in power electronics, HVDC- LCC or VSC-based system design. -Experience with offshore wind HVDC projects. -Familiarity with real-time digital simulation (RTDS/HIL testing). -PSSE / PSCAD and PSSE / RSCAD Power system network conversion, modelling and verification. -Knowledge of IEC 61850, IEEE standards, and grid codes for VSC and HVDC applications. -Strong leadership and mentoring abilities. -Proven track record in leading complex engineering projects and teams. -Effective communication and technical documentation skills. -Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. -Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field. -Experience with PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, Dig SILENT, or similar simulation tools. -Strong expertise in VSC control theory, modulation strategies, and power system protection.
