Maintenance Assistant

Overview

Maintain small-medium buildings, systems & equipment, handling repairs and preventive tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• preventive maintenance

Tasks

-Works in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and all other applicable codes -Inspects roof for debris; reports damage -Maintains/repairs concrete precast/cement -Assists trade as required with light maintenance of mechanical/electrical equipment -Completes general maintenance of door/window hardware -Perform plumbing and electrical work and repair. -Performs light duties: sweeping, general cleaning, painting/patching, garbage removal, snow removal, etc. -Complete filter changes -Escalates unusual events, occurrences or unsafe conditions to supervisor -Monitors work of contractors/external service providers to ensure adherence to contract specifics and company/industry standards -Maintains signage -Responds to basic tenant requests and emergencies -Maintain a clean work environment -Respond to environmental/comfort complaints if required -Repairs drywall/tiles (floor and wall) -Inspects/repairs interior/exterior elements i.e., walls, sidewalks, etc. -Participates in reviewing of operating standards, policies/procedures as required -Completes basic preventive/demand maintenance tasks; input histories if required

What You Bring

-Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written). -Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future. -Previous handyperson experience is an asset. -You should have excellent customer service skills in ensuring client requests are responded to professionally. -Prior experience in electrical and plumbing repairs is preferred. -Ability to work as part of a team.
