The Role

Overview

Lead engineering team to design, deliver, and manage utility-scale renewable energy projects.

Tasks

-Provide quality control reviews of work developed by others -Ensure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of the design work -Provide input to management on project resourcing and staff forecasting needs -Develop task and deliverable list with associated hours estimate and schedule to support business development activities as it relates to renewable and decentralized energy projects -Supervise and lead a team of engineers and designers through their individual and team technical development for greater utility to the organization and overall career satisfaction -Support the department’s strategic resourcing initiatives and actively support recruiting efforts -Lead improvements in project efficiencies by creating, updating, and implementing group specific standards/templates -Lead by example in engineering execution functioning as technical lead and engineer of record on project -Supporting projects through complete life cycle including the feasibility phase, preliminary and detailed design, issue-for-bid, construction, start-up, and commissioning -Providing input to management on project resourcing and staff forecasting needs -Monitor your team’s project progress to ensure quality, on-time and on-budget delivery of projects -Provide mentorship to other engineers within the US Energy Practice and other remote teams -Perform engineering calculations to support and direct construction deliverables (specifications, reports, drawings) -Work with Project Managers on developing design schedules and budgets for engineering work activities -Support department manager in advancing the culture of technical excellence and accountability -Participating in and presenting engineering work at client meetings including those requiring occasional travel

What You Bring

-Proficient with the NEC, as well as related codes such as IBC and NFPA 855 -Minimum four (4) years of leadership/supervisory experience preferred -Able to lead engineering tasks with strong communication skills (written and verbal) -BA/BS (Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering preferred) from ABET accredited university -MV AC Collection System Design Experience -Highly Proficient in AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Microsoft Excel desired -Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish. -Experience must include design and integration of utility-scale renewable and battery storage systems -Current professional engineering license (PE) -12+ years of relevant experience preferred -Deep knowledge of utility practices, industry codes and standards (NESC, IEEE, PIP etc.). -Special design experience: floating PV, fuel cells -Experience with other software in the industry such as NREL SAM, ForgeSolar, Helioscope, Homer, ETAP, WindPRO, -6+ years of relevant experience -Field construction and commissioning experience -Capable of system financial estimation (Capex, Opex), PPA recommendation and calculating ROI
