Tasks
-Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Creates plan drawings and details for electrical deliverables. -Perform calculations to check allowable fill in conduits and cable tray systems according to NEC requirements and size pull boxes. -Analyze, inspect, and construct designs while adhering to electrical quality standards and department procedures. -Model electrical components using vendor submittals and electrical designs. -Resolves checked drawings; prove and understand comments made. -Depending on experience level, will manage schedule, scope, budgets and forecasts for assigned project, lead team meetings and report on project progression updates and/or issues to project lead team. -Checks design for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements before submitting to checking. -Gathers information needed to develop design and verify voltage separation requirements are met. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Acts as a field resource to assist construction in field resolution on issues. -Completes miscellaneous tasks to support project development. -Routes electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate a cable schedule. -Lead projects and and teams, delivering electrical designs and 3D models for power generation projects, using SmartPlant3d and Naviswork, using applicable engineering national and local codes. -Coordinates with project team by utilizing the Project Database: Request for Review Process, Holds List, ECN, Request for information from other disciplines, and all other applicable functions. -Generate raceway, lighting and power plan, section, P&ID's, and perspective drawings from the 3D model. -Perform calculations to size pull boxes according to NEC requirements. -Develops 3D models utilizing drawings, sketches, and design skills. Checks and navigates in the 3D models for interferences and constructability as well as guides, reviews and mentors more junior staff on the project.

What You Bring
-Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment -Experience working with budgeting, scheduling, and forecasting on a project will be required for Lead Electrical Designers. -Electrical design experience includes component and complete system layouts including duct bank, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completion utilizing engineering documents, sketches or vendor data. -Highly proficient with 3D modeling , preferably using Smartplant3D, but will consider proficiency in other 3D modeling/cad tools with experience in Power or Oil and gas electrical systems. -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Ability to work independently with limited direction and oversight. -Ability to work in a fast paced and multi-discipline team environment with the proven ability to lead others on a project. -At least 10+ years’ experience in electrical component and systems design with recent experience with Electrical Physical Design (and circuit and raceway), in Power, (or heavy industry where you are doing above and below ground electrical systems that deliver and connect power) is required. -Electrical design 3D modeling experience includes all of the following: component and complete system layouts including duct bank, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completion utilizing engineering documents, sketches or vendor data, as well as performing relevant calculations. -Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to mentor more junior designers. -Experience generating raceway, lighting and power plan, section, P&ID's, and perspective drawings from the 3D model. -Regular, reliable attendance -Experience in power generation electrical design is preferred.
