The Company
About Weeks Marine, Inc.
-Founded by Francis and Richard B. Weeks, the company began unloading coal at New York docks with two floating cranes and rapidly grew its maritime expertise. -Over decades it expanded services—wreck removal, navigational aids installation, dredging, marine construction—and built one of North America’s largest floating fleets. -Now a standalone subsidiary of Kiewit (since January 2023), it leverages deep equipment resources and legacy partnerships dating back to the 1960s. -Typical projects span coastal protection, port infrastructure, tunnels (e.g., Spadina Subway, Euclid Tunnel), and heavy-lift salvage of aircraft and vessels. -With divisions in construction, dredging, tunneling, aggregates and marine services, it delivers turnkey solutions using cranes, dredges, barges, tugs and custom yards. -Standout feats include recovering the downed US Airways Flight 1549 hull.
