Tasks

-Help to shape our Digital technology road maps ensuring your experience supports and enhances decisions made relating to the technology. -To recruit, encourage, inspire and develop our people, helping them to be at their best. -Form a close working relationship with other architects and security teams within Rolls-Royce to share best practice and continually learn. -Provide extensive hands-on architecture and technical leadership to support scalable application design and delivery. -To be the “brain” and see the entire Digital picture enabling exploitation of data and services across the organisation to more effectively model and simulate our Business. -To converse directly or facilitate engagements with business communities to better understand business drivers for content development. -Form a strong and trusted relationship with agile DevOps teams, providing technical guidance and thought leadership during continuous delivery. -Stay current with your understanding of the fast-changing technology market and ensure architectures align with current best practices. -Take ownership of all aspects of application architecture within the Submarines Digital product portfolio, considering, in line with architectural and security standards, reference architectures and enterprise road maps.

Technologies such as containerisation play a big part in this, so we’re looking for someone with experience in modern software practices such as these. -Understanding of Intellectual Property and Export Control requirements -UK CEng (Chartered Engineer) or other national equivalent relevant to specialist subject area -We always aim to release value quickly into our business, so we’re looking for someone with experience of doing this. -Building a capable, engaged workforce is critical to effective delivery. We’re looking for team players, who enjoy supporting, mentoring and encouraging less experienced members of the DevOps team. -Professionally qualified Engineer (UK minimum BEng degree or other national equivalent, higher degree preferred) -Member of a relevant professional body/institute -Our design ethos is focussed on On Prem and Cloud, so we’re looking for an individual with a passion to build strong relationships with technology providers. -Our Digital products are part of our next generation technology. You’ll be a big part of shaping our designs for this technology, so we’re looking for someone with experience of Big Data Platform and cutting-edge technology designs. -We aim to achieve 100% automation in Continuous Integration and Delivery. We’re looking for an individual who is passionate about automation and experienced in CICD. -Finding the right balance between pace of delivery, quality, technical debt and cost is challenging. We’re looking for someone with strong experience doing this. -We’re a growing internal digital teams but we also work with suppliers in the UK. We’re looking for someone with strong experience working with a mix of digital teams like these.
