The Role

Overview

Assist field survey crew, collect data, maintain equipment, support CAD and research tasks.

Tasks

-Adhere to the company’s Safety, Quality Management and Equipment Maintenance policies -Assisting Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD production, survey research, boundary analysis, easement preparations, legal descriptions, and computing survey points -Must operate equipment, maintain safe work environment, protect and maintain the equipment and vehicles, accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features -Responsible for assisting the Crew Chief in the operation of a field survey crew -Record accurate and clear surveying notes -Coordinate and work with field crews and other office staff -Set wooden stakes and iron rods, cut and clear brush, trees, etc.

What You Bring

-Currently enrolled in an associates or bachelor’s degree program in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study -High school diploma or GED required -Ability to manage multiple tasks, project coordination, maintain organizational structures, and interact with other design services -Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances -Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, preparation of easement documents, legal descriptions, final plat preparation, construction staking -Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D for production activities -Familiar with GIS processes and terminology -Ability to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote, rural or urban surroundings -Prior experience with survey field work -Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment that is in a growth mode -Requires a lot of walking outside year-round through all kinds of terrain and in extreme heat and cold -Full use of Microsoft Office -Strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills -Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
