The Role

Tasks

-Preventive and emergency maintenance of Vero’s network assets in all GRC markets, including utility locates, route drives, damage prevention and repairs. -Documenting installations and test results. -Maintain and calibrate splicing equipment and tools. -Maintain all equipment in good working condition and report any malfunctions. -Helping customers set up new service, consulting with construction crews, and repairing or replacing faulty equipment. -Maintaining proper traffic control and safety while being efficient. -Work constructively with permitting agencies, DOT/OSHA inspectors and other stakeholders. -Working with clients to plan installations, installing aerial and underground cabling, and pulling it through conduits. -Provide detailed production forecasts and updates to the GRC/Vero project management team. -Maintain accurate production statuses and statistics in Vero’s proprietary project management platform. -Oversee health & safety programs, ensuring compliance with state/local/DOT/OSHA reqs. -Diagnose and fix issues related to signal loss or cable damage. -Troubleshooting problems on existing network lines and providing 24/7 emergency response support. -Follow blueprints and technical diagrams to ensure correct installation. -Use testing equipment to check the integrity and performance of fiber optic cable.

What You Bring

-Previous experience in fiber splicing, telecommunications, or related fields are highly desirable, but not required. -Strong process and documentation orientation, with a focus on continuous improvement. -A valid driver's license is required for all positions. -Vocational training or an associate degree in telecommunication, electronics, or a related field is often preferred, but not required. -Strong leadership skills. -Proficiency in Google Suite (Sheets, etc.), Google Maps, Google Earth, and project management tools. -High school diploma or equivalent. -On-call and weekend availability -Strong written and verbal communication skills. -Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
