The Role

Tasks

The successful candidate will become part of an established Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) team, reporting directly to the Environment Manager, and will play a key role in supporting environmental excellence across a wide range of construction projects throughout Scotland. -Lead initiatives to prevent water pollution, with a strong focus on silt management and sustainable site practices. -Support site teams in the development and maintenance of Construction Environmental Management Plans, waste management plans, and aspects/impacts registers. -Design and implement company-wide initiatives to promote environmental awareness and minimise waste. -Support the preparation of environmental content for tender submissions, bids, and award entries. -Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 50001, environmental licences, and permits. -Assist with internal and external audits, assessments, and accreditation processes. -Conduct environmental site inspections and communicate findings and recommendations to project teams. -Provide advice, support, and training to site delivery teams on all environmental aspects affecting construction operations. -Liaise with environmental specialists, regulatory authorities, and client representatives. -Monitor and report on energy usage across construction sites and offices, improving data capture to enhance carbon and energy performance. -Develop and promote innovative environmental solutions such as renewable energy systems for site operations.

Due to continued growth, our client, a well-established and forward-thinking Civil Engineering Contractor, is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join their dynamic organisation, combining advisory expertise with hands-on implementation. -Strong understanding of environmental legislation, compliance requirements, and best practice standards. -Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently at all levels of an organisation. -Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. -Willingness to travel and stay away from home as required. -You should have previous experience in an Environmental Advisor role, ideally within civil engineering sector. -Self-motivated, organised, and able to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
