The Role
Overview
Design and coordinate site civil engineering for facilities, focusing on data centers.

Tasks
-Communicate effectively with managers and team members -Perform other tasks that support the mission and vision of HDR and the BES Business Group -Mentor junior staff and delegate appropriate tasks -Perform calculations in support of the site development (stormwater pond sizing, culvert and pipe capacity analysis, hydrology calcs, etc.) -Collaborate with team engineers to determine the best course of action -Manage your time and organization of multiple tasks/projects -Contribute to the development of civil engineering scope of work and budgets for proposals -Design and produce plan sets, details, specifications, and cost estimates -Coordinate with internal and external resources to complete all due diligence research and documentation -Coordinate with subconsultants for support and design services -Attend and contribute to client meetings -Understand and meet Jurisdictional requirements in your design and support the Pre-Application process; Coordinate with the Authority Having Jurisdiction to determine design and submittal requirements and coordinate design solutions -Transition the concept plans through the schematic and construction design processes

What You Bring
-Author reports that are technically sound, grammatically correct, and well organized -Strong written and verbal communication skills -Coursework experience in land development and the design of building related site civil (grading, utilities, storm drainage, stormwater management, and erosion control) is preferred. -Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, familiarity and demonstrated experience with civil engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil 3D; specialty civil platforms (e.g., Openflows) as required -Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering -Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
