The Role

Overview

Repair, test, and maintain fire sprinkler and life safety systems.

Tasks

-Select pipe sizes, types or related materials, such as supports and hangers, for layout and installation. -Ensures appropriate materials are provided based on working knowledge of fire protection system repair. -Inspects and tests installed systems using NFPA testing guidelines and approved equipment. -Performs cutting, fitting, and pipe connection using threaded, soldered, brazed or grooved joints and utilizes a variety of hand tools. -Completes required paperwork and reports on each job including daily time, progress, duration, record of parts, material and labor. -Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.

What You Bring

-Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. -Knowledge of disabling and enabling fire alarm panels for system service. -Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft). -Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently. -Must have valid Driver's License and clean Department of Motor Vehicles report. -Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position. -All candidates offered a position must successfully pass pre-employment drug and background screens. -Able to meet all physical requirements. -Able to troubleshoot and repair Fire Protection systems stemming from inspections and emergency calls. -Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision. -Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload. -Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
