Tasks

-Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to less experienced engineers -Coordinate with all other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects. -Assist the Engineering Manager in maintaining project schedules and budgets -Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection. -Plans and conducts independent evaluation, selection and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. -Perform design of projects from the conceptual and bid phase through design completion for project needs and requirements that are set by the project managers based off client needs -Assist the Engineering Manager in managing sub-consultants -Participation in scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration for infrastructure projects is also part of the role, including involvement in business development and preparation of proposals -Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines and project team -Support business development through writing of technical approaches, scopes of work, and presentation to clients -Assist with identification of key client interests and drivers on less complex projects. Communicate client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on less complex projects. -Hands-on involvement in developing reports or technical memos, completing studies, detailed designs, and specifications, collaborating to complete cost estimates, and preparing contract documents -Prepares complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles. Manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements. -Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables. -Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, interface directly with the client or sub-consultants -Reviews engineering work and/or assignments of early career professionals. Is responsible for one or more of the following: overseeing collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work; leading smaller production teams; and serving as the responsible charge for a project. -Focus on large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects with a focus on the delivery of projects by leading significant portions of a variety of facilities throughout the cycle of design and construction, and startup phases as a technical specialist or lead

What You Bring

-Ability and motivation to lead portions of complex projects with guidance and mentorship -Typical office environment, typical construction environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation). -Licensed PE or ability and interest to obtain PE and/or be in active pursuit of registration -Sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods of time, lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds. -Applies knowledge to complex projects, find and develop non-standard design solutions to better serve clients project specifications -Utilizes knowledge of regularly used civil concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the water engineering industry -Thorough understanding or water and wastewater design (i.e., Infrastructure, Conveyance, Pump Stations/Lift Stations) -Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
