Tasks
-Review plans/specifications/equipment schedules to ensure compliance and maintain working/current knowledge of MEP codes -Lead/manage MEP preconstruction/estimating process from conceptual to CDs -Assist project team in design decisions and development of solutions, and participate in training of project staff -Generate quantity takeoffs as required to identify scope deficiencies and validate that the project budget is being maintained -Track historical costs of projects and review milestone documents for value alternative opportunities -Establish/maintain budget control over MEP trades during estimating/preconstruction phases, providing value alternative solutions where fit. This includes developing and maintaining scope sheets. -Assist in prequalification process, design coordination meetings and in preparing responses to RFPs and RFQs -Manage estimating/bid processes by coordinating bid efforts, processing RFIs and interfacing between bid community and design team members on negotiations -Manage/prepare Exhibit 1 development process for all MEP subcontracts -Develop/maintain relationships with internal clients, subcontractors, vendors, etc., representing McCarthy to the community in a positive way -Provide LEED analysis to meet project goals and basic/conceptual lifecycle analysis on system for owner consideration -Assist field operations with change order pricing and solving issues during construction

What You Bring
-Self-starter, highly motivated with strong work ethic -5+ years’ experience and Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering required -Knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) -Experience dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work -Experience leading successful team ventures, including development of employees and maintaining relationships with external entities and subcontractor community -Solid interpersonal and communication skills -General knowledge of construction principles/practices required -Proven experience estimating medium-large projects required -Ability to use or learn to use MC2, TSI, Quick Pen, Accubid, OST, QTO and other estimating programs
