Tasks

-Collaborate with other technical experts throughout the country. -Develop or assist in developing structural details and construction plans using a variety of GDOT and industry-standard software packages. -Prepare geometric/bridge layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations. -Train other structural engineering staff with less experience. -Lead bridge/structural tasks as part of project development, including plan and report production -Assist and check design calculations performed by others -Develop, establish, and maintain relationships with our employees, clients, and other industry-related organizations and stakeholders. -Successfully interface with staff from a range of other disciplines (traffic, civil, planning, geotechnical, etc.) to support a diverse range of projects -Perform complex structural analysis and prepare design calculations

What You Bring

-Experience with the design of multiple bridge types in concrete and steel, and knowledge of staged construction analysis -Experience with AASHTO LRFD, AISC, ACI and other North American design codes -10+ years of experience in structural engineering with 6+ years working on Georgia DOT Projects -Experience with GDOT bridge policy and plan preparation is required -Experience with Design-Build delivery, preferred -It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment. An employer who violates this law shall be subject to criminal penalties and civil liability. -Solid background and understanding of Structural engineering software packages like: MDX, Leap Concrete Connect,MIDAS, FB Pier, etc. -Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree is highly preferred -Preferred experience with engineering design software, i.e., programs such as STAAD, LPILE, CSI Bridge, Open Bridge Designer, MicroStation V8i, etc. -Strong all-around theoretical knowledge of structural engineering principles -Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in the State of Georgia or ability to obtain in six (6) months
