The Role

Overview

Lead development and implementation of health & safety strategy across UK operations.

Tasks

-Monitoring and report on performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement. -Providing expert guidance and training to the Directors, managers and teams across the business. -Collaborating with senior leadership to embed health and safety into business planning and decision-making. -Leading the ongoing development of the SHEQ Management systems to ensure they remain up to date and appropriate to the business as it grows. -Liaising with the Health and Safety Executive and other regulatory bodies as required. -Working with HR on Occupational Health and workforce initiatives. -Leading risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, ensuring timely and effective resolution, promoting a learning culture. -Ensuring compliance with all relevant UK health and safety legislation and industry standards across both our office and field teams. -Developing and implementing a comprehensive health and safety strategy aligned with Yu Group’s values and operational goals.

What You Bring

-Hold a NEBOSH/NCRQ Diploma or NVQ 5 (or equivalent) and relevant membership of IOS. -Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills comfortable engaging at Board level to Field operative. -Proven experience in a senior health and safety role within utilities (electricity, gas and water), or similar sector. -Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and best practices. -Ability to influence and drive culture change across diverse teams and environments. -Strong knowledge of 2015 CDM regulations and health and safety best practice -Experience of, and a propensity to, roll your sleeves up and show visible leadership.
