Director of Preconstruction - Religious & Cultural

Tasks

-Participates with the preparation of proposals for new business and presentations to clients -Ensures that potential risk factors have been evaluated and reviewed with senior management -Ensures that bidders are pre-qualified -Monitors monthly cost analysis for all active preconstruction assignments -Oversees, prepares and analyzes cost models during the Design Development and/or bidding period -Assists the Market Lead and VP of Planning and Development in developing the Market strategy, vision, and business planning process -Participates in the transition meetings between the preconstruction and operations teams -Creates and maintains schedules for all preconstruction activities -Establishes and maintains relationships with existing and new clients -Reviews project constructability and value analysis -Coordinates and ensures that a preliminary construction schedule has been developed for each estimate -Attends and participates in business meetings, industry events, and conferences -Ensures estimates are complete and reflect all that is required to build the project -Participates in and assists in attracting, recruiting, developing, and retaining top caliber talent -Assists and/or manages the preconstruction department budget -Coordinates, manages, supervises, and trains preconstruction members and support staff -Ensures and/or produces progress estimates at design milestones, evaluates material and system costs, reviews document progress and coordination, builds and maintain subcontractor and vendor relationships -Assures that the estimates, including general conditions, are accurate, complete, and reflect the actual requirements of the project -Ensures that clear scopes-of-work are written -Oversees, plans and/or leads the preconstruction strategy meeting on the approach to the project or estimate

What You Bring

-Bachelor of Science Degree in accredited construction related curriculum, such as Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent plus 12 years of experience; or 16 years of relevant experience in the construction industry. -Strong computer skills with working knowledge of preconstruction software tools -Detailed and deadline oriented, well-organized, and ability to prioritize -Demonstrated imaginative, innovative, and succinct approach to a project -Relevant experience managing preconstruction for large-scale projects with an emphasis on highly complex projects -Knowledge of construction, materials, market conditions and trade practices -Demonstrated preconstruction experience for international projects -Ability to understand owner/engineer requirements with conceptual ability to work with minimal information -Excellent oral and written skills -Fundamental knowledge of contracts and project accounting -Experience leading and developming team members -Ability to travel internationally and domestically as project requires
