The Role
Overview
Design and develop gearboxes, perform FEA, stress analysis, GD&T, and support manufacturing.

Tasks
-Casting materials and techniques. -Creation of technical reports and documentation as required for engineering projects. -FEA analysis of components and systems, shaft and bearing analysis and gear data specification. -Support Operations with design queries and concession requests. -Responsible for calculations for gear, shaft and bearing systems. -Detailed mechanical design work including stress calculations, FMEA’s, 2D detailing, 2D layouts and tolerance stacks. -Liaison with customers and suppliers. -Material selection and process specification. -Specification of gear geometry. -Support Manufacturing and Assembly during “First Off” builds.

What You Bring
-Knowledge of EMobility drivetrain systems and industry trends, gear technology and Design. -Technical knowledge of automotive transmission systems. -Degree (Bachelor or Masters) in Mechanical Engineering or similar field or with equivalent technical experience. -A working knowledge of FEA techniques. -Experience working in an Automotive or Motorsport environment and way of working to achieve customer requirements. -Advanced knowledge of Excel for solving mathematical problems. -Hydraulic circuitry. -Experience with PLM systems (Windchill preferred). -Additive manufacturing techniques. -A flexible approach, being able to work successfully in a small team to aggressive timescales. -Experience of modern manufacturing methods. -Potential for extensive travel to support customer visits and meetings around the UK, Europe and, potentially, worldwide and the holder of a driving licence. -Proven capability of detail design and component solid modelling with Creo or CAD (Catia or NX) systems in similar environment. -Ability to understand, produce and check 2D technical drawings to a high standard with high GD&T competency. -Finite element analysis (Creo Simulate) -A willingness to travel.
