Shop Helper

Overview

Assist in prepping, grinding, sanding, cleaning sheet metal and aid machine operators and welders.

Tasks

-Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment -Assist machine operators (press brake, punch press, and laser) with loading and unloading items from the machines -Assist welders with structural welds by holding materials in place -Cut material in preparation for fabrication or processing -Transfer raw materials, finished products, tools, or equipment between work areas on the production floor using powered equipment (ex. Forklifts) -Maintain a clean and safe work area

What You Bring

-High School Diploma or equivalent -Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or related field -Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 35 pounds at a time. -Knowledge of manufacturing, equipment maintenance, and safety management -Prolonged periods of standing, bending, kneeling, and performing repetitive tasks. -Must wear PPE, such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, and ear protection, while working on the production floor
