The Role
Overview
Provide emergency response and remediation consulting, managing projects, safety, and data.

Tasks
-May assume key environmental or safety roles during responses and exercises, coordinating closely with client and agency personnel. -Dress out in physically demanding personal protective equipment (PPE) for site entry at HAZWOPER sites as required under 29CFR 1910.120 -Coordinates with TERP, Data Managers, and Quality Dept. to ensure data deliverables are timely and of high quality. -Provides training and other technical consulting to clients relative to his/her expertise. -Supports internal preparedness or environmental responses, including the provision of environmental response training, identification of equipment needs, and development of document templates. -Wear partially or totally encapsulating personal protective equipment -Promote CTEH’s safety culture and maintain a high level of safety awareness. -May work at altitudes greater than 5000 feet above sea level -Rarely may work shifts of up to 24 hours in duration -Serve as the primary CTEH representative to on-site client and agency representatives. -Supports all levels of Emergency Response Department to include but not limited to, TERP, Environmental Response and Response Management Programs to ensure all levels of Emergency Response are staffed, trained and response ready. -Review and interpret collected scientific data (i.e. air, soil, water Laboratory results to standards/screening levels). -Assists in the development and implementation of CTEH’s Environmental Response Program. -Remain up to date with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the environmental, industrial hygiene, and project management fields. -Support TERP, Environmental Response Program and other CTEH Programs on emergency response and traditional environmental remediation projects, as required to achieve project goals.

What You Bring
-Long hours involving overtime and weekends as necessary -Works in an office or remote environment when not deployed on an emergency response -Advanced computer skills in a Windows-based platform -Ability to read effectively from a computer screen, sampling device and/or a paper copy -Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or Science, Biology, Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Emergency Management or equivalent, plus 5+ years of related field experience -Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds -Completion of all job specific training, client training and OSHA training requirements -Must have an OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification and current 8 hour annual certification (required) -Frequent, unscheduled travel for extended periods of time -Able to serve as the primary on-call project manager and respond as such to multiple projects across all service lines. -May work in a setting with potential physical and chemical hazards; and Frequent, extended travel -Current driver’s license (required) -Must be able to interpret large data sets to achieve regulatory cleanup goals. -Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment -Significant project management experience, preferably in emergency response -Specialized credentials: CHMM, REM, ASP, CSP, CIH, PMP, PG, PE (preferred) -Wear half-face and full-face air purifying respirator (APR) as well as supplied air respirators in the form of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and hose supplied respirator with medical clearance as required under 29CFR 1910.134 -Must be self-motivated, organized, hard working and must have strong written, communication and technical skills -Ability to drive non-commercial vehicles -Ability to obtain DISA clearance -Works outdoors and may be exposed to hot and cold environments and extreme weather conditions, including sunlit, rainy and windy conditions -Encounter environments presenting physical hazards of uneven ground, standing water, ditches, dusty conditions, rapidly moving transportation and remediation equipment, and physical stress associated with the wear of personal protective equipment -Ability to obtain TWIC clearance -Bending, stooping, climbing ladders and crawling -Strong written communication skills for the preparation of client and regulatory agency report submittals. -Lifting up to 50 pounds several times a day -Ability to obtain a passport
