Tasks
-Work as a contributing team member within a multidiscipline team. -As a member of the electrical team, your primary duties will include: Power system design and analysis in accordance with applicable codes for surface and underground mining operations. -Development and completion of power systems analysis models using ETAP, EasyPower and/or SKM. -Support the preparation and coordination of electrical construction drawings, such as: Single line diagrams (SLDs) -Incorporation of innovation, optimization, and standardization in designs as appropriate considering constructability and economics. -Participates and collaborates in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought. -Performs field work as directed by a senior engineer/designer. -Conduct basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and other similar materials. -Assists with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions. -Works with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer/designer. -Safety is a core value for Stantec. Your personal commitment to safety will help us achieve our goal of zero harm within our operation and for our clients. -Drafts basic technical documents under the direction of a senior engineer/designer. -Performs calculations to analyze and design individual electrical system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software. -Preparation of quality reports and calculation packages as project deliverables.

What You Bring
-Knowledge of and ability to use standard computer applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Revit (would be considered an asset). -Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. -Coop/Internship experience (would be considered an asset). -Willingness to travel to client sites or other Stantec offices (~10% travel). -Motor control schematics -Knowledge of applicable design codes and familiarity with Mine Safety and Health Administration Regulations is an asset. -Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities and willingness to work in a team atmosphere. -Understand and work within Stantec's quality control guidelines. -04 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, particularly surface or underground mining. -Time management skills to meet project budget and schedule.
