Tasks

-Oversee project teams, assign tasks, review deliverables, and provide technical guidance across highway, arterial, and local roadway projects. -Ensure QA/QC practices across all traffic engineering work in the region -Represent Michael Baker International in professional organizations, public meetings, and client engagements. -Drive strategic growth in emerging technologies including EV infrastructure, ITS, and connected/autonomous vehicle systems. -Mentor staff and foster professional development across engineering and project management disciplines. -Manage all aspects of traffic and roadway design projects—from concept through execution—ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards. -Lead a 30+ person Traffic Engineering and ITS team, coordinating with multidisciplinary staff across regional offices. -Monitor scope changes, identify additional service needs, and manage budgets and schedules.

What You Bring

-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. -Demonstrated success in proposal writing, client presentations, and strategic project delivery. -Exceptional communication abilities—written, verbal, and public speaking. -Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills. -PE license in New Jersey and/or New York (required); PTOE certification (highly preferred). -20+ years of progressive experience in traffic and/or roadway design. -It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment. An employer who violates this law shall be subject to criminal penalties and civil liability. -Proven experience with NJDOT, NYSDOT, NJTA, and other regional agencies.
