Tasks

-Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan. -Handling of contractual frameworks and standard form of contract. -Conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports. Applying the value management techniques at the outset of a project. -Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients. -Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed. -Being a key interface with client, stakeholders and other consultants at all project stages. -Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes.

What You Bring

-Excellent interpersonal skills in creating and maintaining relationships, able to converse to clients and peers to director level. -Understanding of value management and programme development and monitoring, ensuring delivery against key milestone targets. -Proven experience working in the rail sector -Negotiating skills with the ability to secure the required outcomes when dealing with people who are process led and not contracted into the project -Degree in quantity surveying is preferred (or other commercially related discipline).
