The Role

Overview

Conduct field geology, data analysis, modeling, and reporting for infrastructure projects.

Tasks

-Performing liaison activities with regulatory agencies (local, state, and federal agencies) on behalf of our clients. -Developing geologic models for complex geologic site conditions. -Conducting geologic research and developing innovative ways to advance projects with the latest technologies. -Assisting in the preparation of project documentation including reports, project communications, and design drawings and report figures that are of a high professional standard. -Collaborating with geotechnical and structural engineers to develop robust dam designs. -Installation of piezometers and geotechnical instrumentation -Provide interpretation of site conditions including geologic, geochemical, and geophysical data and preparing geotechnical and geologic reports. -Perform geologic field reconnaissance and mapping for the identification of geologic hazards and site characterization. -Occasional project site travel required. -Provide support on the design and installation of ground water wells and geotechnical instrumentation (VWP’s, inclinometers, transducers, etc.);

What You Bring

-Ability to work on multiple project tasks and meet deadlines with aggressive schedules efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and work product quality -5+ years of relevant experience -Willingness to travel regularly for domestic and international projects while conducting physically rigorous field geologic data collection in a variety of extreme terrain and weather conditions -GIT Certification -Experience with complex subsurface investigations including soil and rock core drilling -Experience with geotechnical projects including dams, mine tailings dams and water storage dams -Valid US Drivers License required. -Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Engineering Geology or Geological Engineering (Master’s preferred) -Analytical skills and knowledge of geological and geotechnical software (i.e., RocScience, Geo-Slope, gINT, etc. -Must have excellent communication and writing skills. Written communication skills in the form of geotechnical/geologic data reporting is necessary. -Written communication skills in the form of technical reports are a must. -BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalence of experience and/or education.
