Overview

Ensures quality of mechanical design and manufacturing for MCFR reactor components.

Tasks

-Coordinate Company review and approval of vendor testing and inspections plans. -Ensure receipt inspections of materials are scheduled and completed in accordance with company quality procedure and verify completion of required documentation (e.g. POs, MTRs). -Review vendor documentation including fabrication/shop drawings, weld procedure specifications, weld procedure qualification records, and manufacturing data packages. -Support continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices to maintain the highest quality of engineering design and proactively identify process change/enhancement opportunities. -Support quality activities at Everett, WA location during Mockup construction phase such as receipt inspection and material handling. -Ensure that engineering documentation, including design and test documentation, meets the required quality standards (e.g. SPECs, SOWs, drawings). -Provide guidance and support to project teams to ensure quality requirements are met and that risks are identified and mitigated. -Investigate product and production issues, support root cause analysis, coordinate the development/implementation of corrective and preventative actions in accordance with the Corporate Corrective Action Program. -Support supplier audits per NQA-1. -Witness key supplier activities, including machining, welding, NDE, pre-shipment inspection. -Coordinate Company witness testing and first article inspections at suppliers/vendors.

What You Bring

-Physical exertion and/or requirements: Minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds. -Work Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment of >8 hrs./day. -Experience with inspection, including common measurement tools and weld inspection. -Experience with manufacturing tolerances, welding, common manufacturing practices. -Travel required: 10-30% -Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision/direction. -Experience with Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM). -Experience working under a quality program (NQA-1 or ISO 9001) -Special Senses: Visual and audio focused work and ability to perform role in personal protective equipment. -Repetitive work: Prolonged. -Motor Abilities: Sitting and standing for extended periods, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control (hands). -Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience for level 10, or 10 years of relevant experience for level 11. Experience level may be partially substituted for advanced degree depending on position relevance. -The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork. -Demonstrated build and assembly experience.
