Tasks

-Playing an active role in the business groups through regular meetings, workshops, training and business planning -Supporting and approving associated technical work directly related to the discipline -Preparation of preliminary and detailed designs for engineering projects in line with parameters set out in project scope of works -Preparation of construction documentation and specifications for design works -Promoting a culture of technical excellence through mentoring and training less experienced designers -Preparing schedules and allocating resources to enable design drawings for engineering projects to be completed on time and within budget -Ensuring compliance with specifications, design standards and Australian Codes to enhance quality design -Design of multi-disciplinary projects using 12D and Autocad -Design of multi-disciplinary complex civil projects, ensuring design drawings for engineering project work comply with statutory and regulatory requirements and company policies and practices

What You Bring

-Experience supporting and approving associated technical work directly related to the discipline and in project management capacities -Willingness to coach junior designers with advice on solutions and develop fit-for-purpose solutions to engineering problems -A thorough understanding of civil design principles pertaining to land development, storm water, flood modelling, civil infrastructure, roads and/or mining/resources -Valid full drivers license -Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma of Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification) or significant experience as a senior civil designer -Strong written and verbal communication skills to participate in business develop activities as needed -Familiarity with local and national design and drawing standards
